Knovolo Mobile Marketing Reviews

QR Codes must point to Mobile Webpage

These are exciting times for mobile in the US. After several years of watching Asia and Europe adapt readily to Mobile Marketing, it is taking off in North America. Mobile call-to-actions including text messaging (SMS), short codes, QR Codes, Microsoft Tags, mobile coupons, and social networking are popping up all over the place.

Many of these mobile campaigns, however, are still lacking in concept and understanding. One of the biggest problems we see is directing mobile users to non-mobile webpages. All links in text messages, QR Codes, and Microsoft Tag MUST point to mobile webpages if the mobile user is expected to have a positive experience. This is a basic concept in mobile marketing.

This particular issue is so widespread that it needs a page of its own!

PROBLEM:
Links served to mobile devices point to non-mobile-optimized websites, which render poorly or not at all on mobile devices. This is a bad user experience.

Applicable Mobile Philosophy:
Since a Mobile Phone is the only type of device that will follow a link from

  • Text Messages
  • QR Codes
    and
  • Microsoft Tags,

links in these platforms must point to mobile-optimized webpages!
